Frequently Asked Questions

What if the weather is bad the day of our charter?

Safety is our first concern. We will not fish if we cannot operate the boat safely. We will however be able to fish comfortably in most conditions. We live in a subtropical climate and rain showers are common and part of the daily forecast in our warmer months. Rain or rain in the forecast will not automatically cancel your charter. Feel free to bring along any attire you feel will keep you comfortable during our trip. If the weather or conditions are too extreme, the Captain reserves the right to shorten or cancel the charter. Weather cancellations are most often done the same day as your charter. Your Captain will communicate with you to let you know of any delay or cancellation of your trip. Weather cancellations may only be made by the Captain. If the Captain cancels the trip due to weather there is no cancellation charge.

What payment options do you accept?

We require a credit card, Visa or MasterCard only, in order to secure your reservation however there is no charge or deposit taken upon booking your charter. Payment is collected at the end of your charter in the form of cash (preferred), Visa, MasterCard or American Express. A 5% surcharge will be added to all credit card transactions. If you wish to use your credit card please bring it with you so we can run the transaction at the end of your charter.

How do I book a charter?

Booking online through the website is the most efficient way to be sure that you get the date and time you want. When you book online you will be asked to enter a Visa or MasterCard number to complete your reservation. Your card will not be charged. You may also call, text or email me to start the reservation process. However your date is considered open and not reserved until I have received a Visa or MasterCard number for your charter.

What level of experience is necessary?

Everyone is welcome on board from the first time angler to the expert. Come ready to have a good time and hunt down some fish, I will take care of the rest.

Is tipping necessary?

Tips are appreciated, but not mandatory. The majority of our guests do tip the Captain for providing a pleasant outing without regard to the cooperation of the fish. Normal tips are 15-20% of the trips total cost.

What is the cancellation policy?

We do our best to work with customers to avoid charging cancellation fees. However we must adhere to our policy when there is no other option. Charters cancelled by the booking party more than 6 days in advance of the trip date will incur no cancellation charge. Charters cancelled by the booking party 6 days or less of the trip date will be charged 1/2 of the full fare. Parties that fail to arrive for their reserved date and time or cancel less than 48 hours from the scheduled charter launch time will be charged the full fare. In the event of inclement weather, mechanical issues or other situations the Captain may cancel, reschedule or shorten the charter at no penalty to the booking party. If inclement weather or other situations shorten a charter, the Captain may pro-rate the trip to an hourly basis. Weather cancellations are entirely up the Captains discretion. In the event a cancellation fee is due the credit card you use to hold your reservation may be charged to cover the fee.

Equipment loss, mapping and tracking technology, your personal property, prohibited items

Equipment on the boat such as rods, reels and other commonly used tools occasionally become broken, fall off the boat or otherwise become unusable. On very rare occasions these things happen due to customer negligence. The Captain reserves the right to charge the customer for the replacement value of the item or the fee associated with getting a replacement in short order. The payment will be added to the charter bill at the end of the trip.

Your personal belongings are welcome aboard, however you assume all risks associated with bringing these items with you. Please be aware that electronics such as cell phones and cameras will be exposed to a harsh environment and can easily get wet. You will be aboard a working boat at sea. Loose and unattended items on deck can be damaged or lost over the side. The climate and moisture can damage equipment. I will not replace, be held responsible for repair or reimburse customers for lost or damaged personal belongings. Please be careful with your personal property.

For your safety glass bottles and containers of any kind are prohibited on the boat. Spray sunscreen is prohibited on the boat. Lotion sunscreen is welcome.

What do you provide?

We provide all the equipment, bait and tools you will need plus a passion for fishing. Fishing licenses are not required while you are fishing with us. We will provide a cooler with cold bottled water for you. You are welcome to bring a small personal cooler along for your food and drinks.

Can we keep what we catch?

Yes you may keep fish that are legal to possess. Fish cleaning is included in the cost of your charter. All gamefish have strict size and possession limits.
