Charter fishing in all area waters has been good to great over the past few weeks. Redfish, Sheepshead, Flounder and Trout have assumed a positive attitude as cooling water and shorter days reminds them to start beefing up for winter. Pick your favorite bait and head to the water as these fish are in a feeding mode for sure. For Redfish, Flounder and Trout I prefer artificials like a DOA shrimp fished by itself. A Z Man Streak Z or Rain Minnow fished on a 1/8 oz jig. These baits produce well and can be ripped through the water, twitched or dead sticked. All three methods will work at one time or another so be sure to vary your retrieve before giving up on your spot. The best part about becoming proficient with these methods is that these baits are immune to pinfish and other bait crooks. If you do prefer fresh or live bait all your favorites will work on a popping cork or bottom rig.  There are also a few Bull Reds and sharks being caught but the numbers have dropped as the cooler weather impacts the bait migration. There is still plenty of great fishing left for the year.  Get out on the water or give me a call to set up a trip, you will be glad you did! Now just take a minute to see what you missed if you didn’t get out. Let’s go fishing!
